4.5 Post-titration

On burettes with an intermediate stopcock, the content of the burette can
be allowed to flow back into the supply bottle. It should be noted that liq-
uid residue on the wall may partially evaporate.
Preventing volume errors
To prevent volume errors, fill and empty the burette one to two times be-
fore the next titration.
Storing the burette
Clean the burette if you will not be using it for several days. If it is not
cleaned, stopcocks and ground joint connections may get stuck.
