After the first filling operation, a small air bubble may remain on the
burette stopcock.

To remove this bubble, hold the burette at an angle and lightly tap a
finger on the spot where the bubble is located.

4.4 Titration

Preventing volume errors
a.
Begin titration from the zero point.
ð This prevents volume errors.
b.
Turn the valve stopcock gently when closing. Excessive force may lead
to deformation of the valve spindle, resulting in an unwanted rise of
the liquid column in the burette tube (reading error).
Observing wait times
If titration is carried out, the wait time can be omitted since the time re-
quired to reach the titration end point is normally longer than the speci-
fied wait time.
Class Wait time in accordance with DIN EN ISO 385
AS 30 s
B Not applicable
When calibrating Class A burettes, the wait time according to
DIN EN ISO 385 must be adhered to.
