II SECTION II: INSTALLATION AND
MAINTENANCE
II.1 UNIT DESCRIPTION
II.1.1 CONSTRUCTION FEATURES
○ Load-bearing structure and panels in galvanised and painted (RAL
9018) sheet steel; base in galvanised sheet steel.
○ Hermetic, scroll-type rotary compressors, complete with internal
circuit breaker protection and guard resistance (for EH 1110÷3010
models) activated automatically when the unit stops (as long as the
power supply to the unit is preserved).
○ Adequately insulated, braze-welded plate water side heat exchange
in stainless steel complete with anti-freeze resistance.
○ Air side exchanger made up from coil in copper pipes and aluminium
fins with hydrophilic treatment (only for EH 0510÷2710 models).
○ Electric helical fans with external rotor, supplied with internal circuit
breaker protection and complete with protection mesh. Electronic
proportional valve for pressure regulation and continuous regulation of
the rotation speed of the fans (EH models).
○ Male threaded hydraulic connections.
○ Differential pressure switch that protects the unit from any
interruptions to the water flow.
○ Refrigerant circuit in annealed copper pipe (EN 12735-1-2) complete
with: drier filter, load connections, safety pressure switch on the high
pressure side, safety pressure switch on the low pressure side, safety
valve (for 2710÷3010 models), thermostatic expansion valve (n. 2 for
EH), cycle inversion valve (for EH), liquid receiver (for EH) and non-
return valve (n. 2 for EH.
○ Unit with IP24 protection rating.
○ The unit is complete with the R410A refrigerant charge.
○ Condensate collection tray with ductable drains and heating
resistance functioning in winter mode (EH only).
II.1.2 SUPPLIED AS STANDARD
○ Storage tank and pump.
○ Low pressure switch.
○ Single-phase models soft-starter.
○ Exchanger protection grid with finned pack.
○ Double set-point.
○ Guard resistance (EH 1110÷3010 models).
○ Base resistance.
○ Water filter (supplied with the unit).
II.2 ELECTRICAL BOARD
○ Electrical board accessible by opening the front panel, conforming
with current IEC norms, can be opened and closed with a suitable tool.
○ Complete with:
• electric wiring prepared for power supply voltage of 230V-1ph+N-
50Hz for MS, 400V-3ph+N-50Hz for T;
• auxiliary power supply 230V-1ph-50Hz drawn from the main power
supply;
• general isolator, complete with door interlocking isolator;
• automatic compressor protection switch;
• protection fuse for auxiliary circuit;
•
compressor power contactor;
• remote unit control.
○ Programmable electronic board with microprocessor, controlled by
the keyboard inserted in the machine.
○ This electronic board performs the following functions:
• Regulation and management of the outlet water temperature set
points; of cycle reversal; of the safety timer delays; of the circulating
pump; of the compressor and system pump hour-run meter; of the
electronic anti-freeze protection which cuts in automatically when the
machine is switched off; and of the functions which control the operation
of the individual parts making up the machine;
• complete protection of the unit, automatic emergency shutdown and
display of the alarms which have been activated;
• compressor protection phase sequence monitor;
• unit protection against low or high phase power supply voltage;
• visual indication of the programmed set points via the display; of the
in/out water temperature via the display; of the alarms via the display;
and of cooling/heat-pump operating mode via display;
• self-diagnosis with continuous monitoring of machine operation;
• user interface menu;
• alarm code and description;
• alarm history management (menu protected by manufacturer
password).
○ The following is memorized for each alarm:
•
date and time of intervention (if the EKSC accessory is present);
• alarm code and description;
• inlet/outlet water temperatures when the alarm intervened;
• alarm delay time from the switch-on of the connected device;
• compressor status at moment of alarm;
○ Advanced functions:
• configured for serial connection (EKRS485 accessory);
• possibility to have a digital input for remote management of the
double set point.
• configured for management of time bands and operating parameters
with the possibility of daily/weekly operating programmes (EKSC
accessory);
• check-up and monitoring of scheduled maintenance status;
• testing of the units assisted by computer;
• self-diagnosis with continuous monitoring of the functioning of the
unit.
II.3 SPARE PARTS AND ACCESSORIES

II.3.1 ACCESSORIES SUPPLIED LOOSE
EKSA – Anti-vibration supports.
EKTR – Remote keypad for control at a distance with rear illuminated
LCD display (same functions as the one built into the machine).
EKSC – Clock card to display date/time and to regulate the machine
with daily/weekly start/stop time bands, with the possibility to change
the Set-points.
EKRS485 – RS485 serial interface card.
Description and fitting instructions are supplied with each
accessory.
II.4 TRANSPORT - HANDLING - STORAGE

The unit must be transported and handled by
skilled personnel trained to carry out this type of
work.
IMPORTANT!
Be careful to avoid damage by accidental collision.
II.4.1 PACKAGING, COMPONENTS
DANGER!
Do not open or tamper with the packaging before
installation. Do not leave the packaging within
reach of children.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Dispose of the packaging materials in compliance
with the national or local legislation in force in your
country.
