Homemade mashed potato
potatoes (king Edward or Désirée)
Peel the potatoes and cut into pieces. Boil or steam for 40 minutes or until they are
soft.
Switch on your food processor, fitted with the mash bowl, do not add the fine mesh
disc, and add the potatoes via the feed tube, a few pieces at a time.
leave the food processor running for several minutes to ensure all the food has come
through.
Transfer the mashed potato to a large bowl, add the butter, milk and nutmeg, and stir
in gently using the spatula. Season to taste and serve hot.
To prevent the mashed potato from becoming rubbery, avoid stirring it with the milk
and butter for too long.
To ensure you get the best results, we recommend you use King Edward or Desiree
potatoes.
Mashed potato and parsnip
potatoes (king Edward or Désirée)
Wash and peel the potatoes and parsnips then cut them into slices using the 4mm slicing
disc.
Prepare the garlic cloves and boil or steam the vegetables for 40 mins or until soft.
Switch on your food processor, fitted with the mash bowl and gradually feed the
vegetables through the feed tube.
leave the food processor running for several minutes to ensure all the food has come
through.
When the vegetables stop coming through, switch the food processor off, remove the lid
and push the remaining vegetable mash with the spatula. Re-attach the lid and switch
the food processor back on. Transfer the mash to a large bowl and add the milk a little
at a time to achieve the desired consistency, followed by the nutmeg, salt and pepper.
Serve hot.
