CAUSE
1.
Material too cold.
2.
Foreign object in bottom of tank.
1.
Material too cold or too hot.
2.
Die runners too cold.
3.
Rough asphalt surface
1.
Wet beads.
2.
Drive wheel not turning.
3.
Foreign matter in hopper or dispenser.
1.
Seized up bearing.
2.
Bead dispenser binding on wheel.
3.
Worn or contaminated wheels.
1.
Linkage pin loose or missing.
2.
Failed valve spring.
1.
Fuel supply low.
2.
Air in lines.
3.
Blocked fuel line.
4.
Thermopile not getting hot.
5.
Damaged wires or defective thermopile.
1.
Low fuel supply.
2.
Blocked fuel line.
3.
Defective thermopile, damaged wires or
thermopile not hot.
4.
Defective main fuel control.
1.
Restricted fuel low.
2.
Clogged or restricted valve or orifice.
3.
Damaged or broken infrared.
1.
Burner housings too hot, causing pre-ignition.
1.
Material is too cold.
2.
Beads settled in the transfer pipe.
1.
Loose cable housing.
2.
Seized cable.
3.
Loose brake arm on pivot shaft.
4.
Cable locked into position.
5.
Worn or defective wheel.
SOLUTION
1.
Wait until material is melted.
2.
Drain thermoplastic and inspect agitator.
1.
Check thermoplastic temperature with a different
thermometer.
2.
Wait until entire die is heated, then continue application
until thermoplastic heats die further
3.
Experiment with thermoplastic application temperature.
1.
Discard and replace with fresh beads.
2.
Make proper beader adjustment.
3.
Clean thoroughly.
1.
Inspect and replace bearings as needed.
2.
Re-adjust beader linkage.
3.
Replace or clean as needed.
1.
Tighten or replace as needed.
2.
Replace valve.
1.
Refill LP gas tank.
2.
Hold button down until line clears (no more than 2
minutes).
3.
Inspect fuel line and orifice - clean or repair as necessary.
4.
Realign thermopile into pilot flame.
5.
See system diagnosis.
1.
Refill LP gas tank.
2.
Inspect, clean or repair as necessary.
3.
Allow thermopile to heat up, check for damaged wires,
repair or replace as needed.
4.
Replace if necessary.
1.
Check and clean fuel lines.
2.
Remove and clean as needed.
3.
Remove and repair or replace as necessary.
1.
Shut down burners and re-ignite with restrictor valve
turned perpendicular to fuel line.
See infrared service.
1.
Wait for infrareds to heat transfer pipe.
2.
After pipe and valve are heated, push 1/2" hydraulic
hose through tank discharge to the material valve to
clear.
1.
Check all jam nuts.
2.
Replace if necessary.
3.
Check for loose set screw on brake arm.
4.
Turn handle 1/4 turn.
5.
Replace wheel or adjust lower jam nuts for more tension.
