THERMOMARK

BEAD SYSTEM FEATURES, ADJUSTMENT
AND OPERATION
The ThermoMark 300 bead system provides enough volume
to eliminate the need to refill beads prior to refilling the
thermoplastic.
The automatic bead dispenser is adjustable from a 4" width to a
12" width. To adjust the width, pull the pin on the adjustment
lever and move the lever to the desired width location. Let the
pin snap back into the hole below the desired setting to lock
the lever in place.

ADJUSTMENT
LEVER
The bead application rate is preset at the factory to deliver a
minimum of 1.1 lbs. per square foot. This rate remains constant
without regard to width setting or propulsion speed of the
applicator.
Engagement of the bead dispenser is accomplished by raising
the die linkage lever to the full vertical position (inside right
lever). This action allows the wheel on the bead dispenser to
contact the wheel on the applicator.
This simple design also incorporates a feature whereby the
bead dispenser continues to apply beads with the application
die closed and on the road surface. This feature allows the
operator to continue bead application at the end of the
marking, covering the distance between the die and the bead
dispenser.

1. Intall a clean die and connect all linkages as stated in
the "Applicator Die" portion, earlier in this section. It is
preferable for the die to be new, but more importantly it
must open and close freely and completely.
2. Open the die by positioning the die lever (inside right
lever) to the complete vertical position. Slowly pull the
lever down until the die closes, but do not raise it from the
road surface.
3. In this position, adjust the threaded linkage rod to the
bead dispenser so that the resulting contact on the
applicator wheel creates just enough friction to turn the
beader wheel without skipping.
4. Test to see wehen the die lever (inside right lever) is
completely lowered and hooked, the bead dispenser is
completely disengaged.

5. Test bead application with the die closed and on the road
surface. During propulsion, the bead dispenser should
apply beads with the die on the road surface and in the
closed position, providing for complete bead coverage at
the end of the line.
6. Check for smooth sliding of the bead adjustment rod
through the hole in the bracket on the side of the beader.
7. For no bead application, move lever forward to the OFF
position.
