TRAINING PLAN
Be sure to monitor your intensity and exercise speed.
This is especially important when starting a new training program. The easiest way is to start slowly and watch
how fast you progress. In the first few weeks of exercising with a seated elliptical trainer, you may want to start at
a speed between 1-3, depending on your current fitness level. As you become more accustomed to the exercises,
make slow, gradual adjustments throughout the workout so that you can work at a moderate level while still being
able to speak during the exercises and not feel like you are having difficulty breathing and speaking at the same
time. Starting at a level that is too high poses a risk of injury. It is important to give your body the time it needs to
build its endurance and strength when starting an exercise program.
Things to consider when starting an exercise program:
• Follow each section of the training and work to find a pace/resistance that allows you to exercise at a
comfortable pace.
• Slow down if you feel out of breath or if your muscles twitch, or feel weak or tired. You should feel like you are
moving, but you should also be able to speak in complete sentences.
• Consider doing your workouts about three times a week with a rest day in between as needed.
• Progress by adding a few minutes each time you exercise until you are at 30 minutes.
• Stretching the lower body after exercise is also important to prevent injury.
• Be sure to stay well hydrated and drink plenty of water before and after your workout to ensure you are well
hydrated.
