General information
In general, nitrogen losses on HYDAC
hydropneumatic accumulators are very low.
A regular check of the pre‑charge pressure
is recommended to prevent the piston from
hitting the end cap, or the bladder, diaphragm
or metal bellows, from being exposed to
excessive stress if there is a drop in the pre‑
charge pressure (p
testing units are designed to charge hydraulic
accumulators and to test the nitrogen pre‑
charge pressure.
The HYDAC charging and testing units,
hereinafter also referred to as FPU, may only
be used as intended‑
The FPU can be used both with conventional
nitrogen bottles (200/300 bar) and with a
pressure boosting system (design can vary,
observe manufacturer's instructions).
The max. operating pressures of the FPU must
be observed:
FPU‑1: 350 bar
FPU‑2: 800 bar
EN
The permitted operating temperature of the
FPU is ‑10 °C ... +80 °C.
The pressure reducing valve that is to be used
for filling/refilling is designed for a permitted
operating temperature of ‑20 °C ... +60 °C.
NOTICE
All work with HYDAC charging and testing
units must only be carried out by suitably
trained staff.
Incorrect installation or handling can lead to
serious accidents.
Safety precautions according to section 4.2
must be observed.
Only use nitrogen to charge
hydraulic accumulators.
Never use oxygen or
compressed air.
