Because the automatic level is set halfway between A
and B, any error in the line-of-sight causes both read-
ings to be erroneous by the same amount. These
errors cancel out and the result H = a1 – b1 is cor-
rect. Therefore, the adjusting value is b3 = a2 – H!
Now, unscrew the eyepiece cover 7. Turn adjusting
screw 15 until the target line reaches the value of b3
at measuring point B. Check the calibration with the
following formula {(a1 – b1) – (a2 – b2)} ≤ 3 mm. If
the result is not achieved, repeat the calibration pro-
cedure or send in the automatic level to the after-sales
service.

An automatic level is a precision measuring tool, and
should therefore be treated with care.
– Do not immerse the measuring tool into water or
other fluids.
– After use, the automatic level should be wiped
clean with a dry cloth and stowed in its carrying
case.
– Let a moist automatic level dry in its open carrying
case. Allow a cold automatic level to reach ambi-
ent temperature also by leaving it in its open carry-
ing case.
– Remove dust from the lenses only with a soft
brush, and never touch the lenses with your fin-
gers.
– A bag of silica gel dryer for the removal of moisture
is included in each carrying case. This drying
agent should be renewed from time to time.
– Always store and transport the automatic level in
its carrying case, which should always be in proper
condition.
– Store the measuring tool in a dust-free, dry and
well-ventilated area.
If the measuring tool should fail despite the care taken
in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair
should be carried out by an authorized after-sales
service centre for Bosch power tools.
