Direction Indicators
According to the working condition and the requested
accuracy, select the sensitivity with button 7.
Direct the reception area 4 toward the rotational laser.
Slowly move the laser receiver upward or downward
until the direction indicators 13 or 15 appear on dis-
play 12 and the 3 red LEDs 1 or 3 begin to flash (when
the speaker is activated, an audio signal can be
heard).
Move the laser receiver upward when direction indica-
tor 15 is displayed and the 3 red LEDs 3 flash (with
the speaker volume on, a slow-beat audio signal is
heard).
Move the laser receiver downward when direction
indicator 13 is displayed and the 3 red LEDs 1 flash
(with the speaker volume on, a fast-beat audio signal
is heard).
When the centre of the reception area 4 is reached,
the centre mark 14 is indicated on display 12 and the
3 green LEDs 2 flash (with the speaker volume on, a
continuous audio signal is heard).

Working Advice

The laser receiver is fitted with magnets 6 for easy fas-
tening to excavators and other construction machines.
The provided retaining clamp 20 enables operation
with measuring rods for checking heights and excava-
tion work.
Maschine Mode (see figure B)
Set the excavator shovel or the bulldozer blade to the
height-reference point.
When using with an excavator, the excavator arm
must be plumb and the excavator shovel must be posi-
tioned in such a manner that measuring can easily be
repeated (excavator shovel open to the stop or shovel
base facing the ground). Ensure that the measuring
always takes place from the same position.
Determine the height between rotational laser and
excavation depth (A + B), which results to set-up
height (C).
Undo the laser receiver from the retaining clamp,
switch on and select the desired measuring accuracy.
Fasten the laser receiver plumb to the excavator arm
at set-up height (C), measured from the shovel
tip/shovel base to the centre indicator 22/centre mark
14 of the laser receiver.
The desired excavation depth is reached when the
laser receiver signals "height reached".
Afterwards, it is recommended to check the height
measurement.

Measuring-rod mode
Take care that the magnets 6 are firmly attached with
the retaining clamp 20.
Apply the retaining clamp 20 with the laser receiver to
the measuring rod. The measuring rod is plumb on the
height-reference point.
When the laser receiver signals "height reached", affix
the retaining clamp to the measuring rod.

Maintenance and Service

Maintenance and Cleaning

Keep the measuring tool clean at all times.
Wipe away debris or contamination with a dry, soft
cloth. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents.
If the measuring tool should fail despite the care taken
in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair
should be carried out by an authorised after-sales
service centre for Bosch power tools. Do not open the
measuring tool yourself.
