Slack rope (rope sag) should be avoided to keep the potential fall
distance short (3.2.2). The potential fall height should always be
restricted to the minimum.
Safety information: If the rope has been stressed as the result
of a serious fall, it should be taken out of use as quickly as
possible (2.7) and checked by a qualified person (2.8).
Friction must be avoided (3.1.2).
Protect the rope during transport, e.g. by using equipment bags
(fig. 4.4).
The long-term operating temperature of the rope when dry ranges
from approx. -35°C to + 45°C (3.2.8)
4.) Use for ropes with prefabricated termination
In addition to point 3) The following notes apply: If the risk assessment
performed prior to the start of the work reveals that loads over
edges are possible in the event of a fall, appropriate precautionary
measures must be taken to reduce this risk to a minimum.
The lanyard may not be extended, knotted or laced. If marked with
EN 354 as a lanyard for direct connection between an EN 361
certified body harness and an anchor point, an EN 355 certified
energy absorber must be used, for which the total length (including
termination of the rope and EN 362 carabiner) must not exceed 2 m.
If marked with EN 795 as an anchor device (e.g. for rope-based
access, rescue), the instruction manual for the fall arrester must
also be observed.
The anchor device may only be used by one user and as part of
a fall-arrest system together with a fall-arrest device, which limits
the dynamic forces on the user to a maximum of 6 kN.
5.) Care and storage
Straps and ropes can be cleaned with warm water (max. 40°C) and
mild soap (we recommend using, for example, special "SKYWASH"
detergent (4.1)). Then rinse well with clean water. Do not dry wet
equipment in tumble dryers or above heat sources, instead hang it
out to dry in a well-ventilated and shady place (4.3). Avoid contact
with chemicals, oils, solvents and other aggressive substances
(3.2.3), as well as proximity to heat and open flames (3.2.4) (3.2.3).
The equipment should be stored in a dry and clean place (3.2.7), at
room temperature (15°C to 25°C) (4.4) and protected from direct
sunlight, preferably in equipment bags or cases (4.2). A damp or
frozen rope is more sensitive to abrasion and harder to control
when used in combination with braking and safety systems (3.2.5).
When damp, particles of dirt can get into the inside of the rope
