14. Additional functions
You can use the function buttons or menu setting points to enable a range of additional functions.
a) MODE function
Some measuring functions have additional sub-functions. The sub-functions are marked in the rotation area. To select
these, briefly press the 'MODE' button (4). Press the button again to switch to the next sub-function.
b) REL function
The REL function allows you to take a reference measurement to avoid possible line losses (e.g. during resistance
measurements). For this purpose, the current indicated value is set to zero. A new reference value is set.
To activate this function, press the cursor button for the 'REL' function. The display shows 'Δ' and the measurement
indicator is set to zero. The automatic measurement range selection is thereby disabled.
To deactivate this function, switch the measuring function or press the cursor button again.
c) HOLD function
This function freezes the current reading on the display so that you can record it for future reference.
If you test live wires, ensure that this function is disabled before the measurement starts. Other-
wise, a false measuring result is simulated!
Briefly press the 'HOLD' button (12) to switch the hold function on. 'HOLD' is shown on the display.
To disable the hold feature, press the 'HOLD' button again or change the measuring function.
d) Saving the screen content
IR thermal images or screenshots of measured values can be saved to the removable microSD memory card. The
images are saved in bitmap format (.bmp) and can be reused by all graphics and table editing programs. This allows
for logging of measurement series.
- Switch the measuring instrument on and select IR mode.
- Ensure that a memory card is inserted. This is indicated by the disc icon in the upper screen bar.
- Take a measurement. The desired image can be frozen with the 'HOLD' button (12).
- The display shows the 'SAVE' icon in the function bar. Press the corresponding cursor button.
- The image is saved with a beep tone. It may take a few minutes to save. Measurement can be continued after a
few seconds.
- The measuring instrument creates a folder on the memory card entitled 'record'. The images can be stored with a
time stamp in the file name as follows:
year month day hour minute second.bmp
Example: 180819142658.bmp
The data on the memory card can be read by the measuring instrument or a computer via an optional memory card
terminal.
