9. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

a) HOLD function
The HOLD function keeps the currently indicated measured value in the displays to allow you to read or record it
easily.
If you test live wires, make sure that this function is deactivated before the measurement starts.
Otherwise, the measurement will be incorrect!
Also observe that the HOLD button has not been pushed at the beginning of the measurement
(display with the HOLD button pushed: "H"). If the HOLD function is activated before commence-
ment of the measurement, no measured value is displayed!
Push the button "HOLD" (3) to activate the hold function. The HOLD symbol "
button "HOLD" to deactivate the HOLD function. The HOLD symbol goes out.
b) Display lighting
With the DMM switched on, the display lighting button (3) can be used to switch the display lighting on and off. To
switch on and off, keep the button pushed for approx. 2 seconds. The display lighting remains switched on for max.
15 seconds and goes out automatically then, or when previously switched off via the button (3). When switching off
the DMM via the dial switch (position "OFF"), the display lighting goes out as well.
c) LED lamp
With the DMM switched on, the latching switch (0) can be used to switch the integrated LED lamp on and off. The
switch latches when pushed and switches the LED at the front of the DMM (11) on. With the switch pushed, this
function remains active, but is switched off as well when switching off the DMM via the dial switch. When switching
on the DMM again, the LED lamp lights up at once. The activated lighting remains active until the meter is switched
off manually or via the latching switch (9).
The automatic deactivation does not switch off the LED lamp as well!
d) Automatic power-off
An automatic deactivation function switches off the multimeter independently if it is not used for an extended period.
This protects the battery and extends its service life.
If the meter is not operated for approx. 15 minutes, it switches off automatically. One minute before the deactivation
time, 5 signal sounds are issued to indicate that the device will switch off soon.
The deactivation can be delayed by another 15 minutes by pushing the button "SELECT".
The automatic deactivation is performed with a long signal sound.
The meter can be reactivated by pushing the button "SELECT" or by switching the dial switch off and on again via
the position "OFF".
