10. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
The following additional functions can be used to make device settings or use special meas-
uring functions.
a) Hold Function
The Hold function keeps the currently indicated measured value in the displays to allow you to
read or record it easily.
If you test live wires, make sure that this function is deactivated before the
measurement starts. Otherwise, the measurement will be incorrect!
To switch on the Hold function, push the "HOLD" button (5); a signal sound confirms this
command and "
In order to switch off the Hold function, push the "HOLD" button again or change the measure-
ment function.
b) Manual Measuring Range Selection "RANGE"
The "RANGE" function permits manual setting of a specific measuring range. It is possible that
the automatic measuring range setting will already select the next-higher measuring range or
switch between ranges if the range is problematic. To suppress this, the measuring range in
the two voltage measuring functions and the resistance measuring function can be set manual-
ly. The manual measuring range setting works only at V
Pushing the "RANGE" button (10) will cause the "AUTO" symbol to go out and the device to
switch to manual mode. Every push is confirmed with a signal sound.
Each push of the "RANGE" button (10) switches the measuring range; at the end, it will start
with the lowest measuring range again. The respective measuring range is indicated by the
position of the decimal point.
To switch off this function, keep the "RANGE" button pressed for approx. 2 seconds. The
"AUTO" symbol appears and the automatic measuring range selection is active again. Switch-
ing the measuring function deactivates this function as well.
