Training the Corset Action of Transversus
Abdominis in Supine
• Place the three-chamber pressure cell under the lumbar
spine and inflate to a baseline of 40 mmHg (orange band).
• Draw in the abdominal wall without moving the spine or
pelvis.
• Pressure should remain at 40 mmHg (i.e. no movement of
the spine).
• Hold for 10-15 seconds; breathe normally.
• Perform 10 repetitions.

Abdominis with Leg Loading
• Place the three-chamber pressure cell behind the lumbar
spine and inflate to baseline of 40 mmHg (orange band).
• Draw in the abdominal wall without moving the spine or
pelvis.
• Pressure should remain at 40 mmHg (i.e. no movement of
the spine) while leg lifts.
• Hold for 10-15 seconds; breathe normally.
• Repeat 10 times with each leg.
