Maintenance
The Altrad Belle machines are designed to give many years of trouble free operation. It is, however, important that the simple
regular maintenance listed in this section is carried out. It is recommended that an approved Altrad Belle dealer carries out all major
maintenance and repairs. Always use genuine Altrad Belle replacement parts, the use of spurious parts may void your warranty.
Before any maintenance is carried out on the machine ensure that the machine has been stopped.
• For petrol engined machines, switch off the engine and disconnect the HT lead from the spark plug.
• For Electric machines ensure that the machine is disconnected from the power source.
• For Pneumatic machines ensure that the machine has been disconnected from the air supply.
• Always set the machine on level ground to ensure any uid levels will be correctly read.
• Only use recommended oils.
Running In Period
When the machine is rst used from new, the engine oil must be changed after the initial running in period (see engine manual for full
detail).
The belt tension should be checked after 4 hours use. If new belts have been tted, they must initially be checked after 30 minutes of
use.
Drive Belt Adjustment
The belt tension should be set so that when the belts are pressed down lightly with a nger midway between the two pulleys, de ection
would be about 5 mm (3/16") to 10 mm (3/8"). If the engine were used with the belt tension inadequate, the belt would not only slip but
also wear more quickly.

• Fill the bowl of the lubricator with oil before the system is pressurised.
• Do not use cleaning oil, brake uid oil or solvents.
• Oil recommended for use:
ISO and UNI FD22 i.e. Enrgol HLP 22 (BP), Spinesso 22 (Esso), Mobil DTE 22 (Mobil), Tellus Oil 22 (Shell)
