COOLANTS

1.5.1 TYPES USED

The condensing units use three types of refrigerating gas depending on the performance and conditions of use:
Type TN: R404A, R507A and, where allowed, R22 (outside of EEC);
Type BT:
R404A, R507A and, where allowed, R22 (outside of EEC).
See the "Technical Data Manual" for information about the amount of refrigerating gas contained in your unit. To
calculate the amount of coolant in the system, add the amounts relative to the distribution network of units used and the
number of condensers.
We recommend that you post a notice relative to the type and amount of refrigerating gas used in your installation (see
paragraph entitled SAFETY MEASURES), outside the machine room to facilitate emergency operations.

1.5.2 PRECAUTIONS

The coolants used, though classified as "non-toxic", can cause serious problems to the operators exposed to them.
Excessive exposure can cause abnormal heartbeat and sudden death. High concentrations in the air can cause anesthetic
effects and asphyxiation.
In spray form, the product can cause chilblains of the skin and eyes. Refer to the safety regulations in this manual and in
the technical sheets provided with the coolant used.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE FLUIDS OTHER THAN THOSE SPECIFIED (e.g. AMMONIA),
THAT COULD DAMAGE THE SYSTEM.

STORAGE AND SHIPPING

2.1

CLIMATIC LIMITS

The units are designed and constructed to permit storage and shipment, without any particular precautions, in most of
the countries where they are sold.
The extreme conditions for storage and shipment are:
Temperature:
Relative humidity
If more severe conditions are expected during shipment and storage, special packing will have to be provided, for which
see the specific notes.
2.2

HANDLING

The units are supplied in modular form with a self-supporting frame in steel. The weight of each unit can be found in
the paragraph 1.1.1.
Use a forklift or similar equipment to handle the units (see figure below).
