9 Maintenance and cleaning

Despite the above, scheduled maintenance and cleaning are prerequisites for
a long service life and fault-free operation.
DANGER
Risk of injury due to unexpected start-up
The following instructions must be adhered to throughout all maintenance,
servicing, assembly, disassembly and repair work:
• Switch off the power source.
• Close the gas supply.
• Disconnect the mains plug.
NOTICE
• Maintenance and cleaning work may only be carried out by qualified
personnel (in Germany see TRBS 1203).
• Check the coolant hose, seals and connectors for damage or leaks and
replace if necessary.
• Always wear your personal protective equipment when performing
maintenance and cleaning work.
1 Check that all threaded fittings are tight and inspect wear parts for visible
damage. Replace if necessary.
2 The electrode must be replaced if the weld penetration is deeper than
1.5 mm.
3 Clean the cutting torch body regularly to remove cutting spatter.
4 Check the spring recoil of the torch contact pins and clean the contact area
of the protection cap and/or replace the torch contacts if necessary.
