8. Controls
8.1 General
Risk of injury!
Observe the safety instructions in
the section "For your safety" (
● Place the machine on level and firm
ground when performing all the
operations described.
8.2 Folding down the handlebar
Danger of pinching!
The upper handlebar can be folded
down when the rotary handles are
released. Therefore hold the upper
handlebar with one hand at its
highest point when unscrewing the
rotary handles.
● Unplug the power cable.
Transport position – for space-saving
transport and storage:
● Unscrew rotary handles (1) until they
turn freely.
The machined grooves prevent the
rotary handles from becoming
completely detached from the bolts
(safeguard against loss).
● Fold down upper handlebar (2) and rest
it on the lower housing or on the motor
hood.
Working position – for working with the
machine:
● Fold up upper handlebar (2) rearwards
and hold with one hand.
40
● Tighten rotary handles (1).
8.3 Height adjustment of the
handlebar
The handlebar (1) can be adjusted
to 3 positions:
I Low
4.).
II Medium
III High
● Loosen rotary handle for handlebar
height adjustment (2) by turning anti-
clockwise (approx. 5 turns).
● Hold handlebar (1) with both hands and
6
bring to the desired position by moving
up or down. Ensure that handlebar
adjustment is the same on the left and
right sides.
● Tighten rotary handle for handlebar
height adjustment (2) again by turning
clockwise.
8.4 Central cutting height
adjustment
Seven cutting heights can be set.
Level 1: 25 mm
Level 7: 80 mm
● Hold the machine at handle (1) and pull
adjustment lever (2) upwards and hold
in order to release the detent
mechanism. Set the required cutting
height by moving the machine upwards
or downwards.
● This can be read off at cutting height
indicator (3).
● Release adjustment lever (2) again and
allow the height adjustment to engage.
8.5 Attaching and detaching the
grass catcher box
Attaching:
7
● Open discharge flap (1) and hold it
open.
● Attach grass catcher box (2) by mating
recesses (3) with projections (4) on the
machine.
● Close discharge flap (1) again
manually.
Detaching:
● Open discharge flap (1) and hold it
open.
● Lift grass catcher box (2) upwards,
detach from projections (4) and
remove.
● Close discharge flap (1) again
manually.
8.6 Level indicator
The flow of air generated by the
blade raises level indicator (1). The
8
flow of air stops when the grass catcher
box is full. If the flow of air is too low, level
indicator (1) returns to its resting state.
This is a prompt to empty the grass
catcher box.
The functionality of the level indicator is
restricted if the flow of air is impaired.
External influences such as wet, dense or
high grass, low cutting levels,
contamination or the like can impair the
flow of air and the functionality of the level
indicator.
