7. Preparing the machine for
operation
7.1 General
Risk of injury!
Observe the safety instructions in
the section "For your safety" (
● Place the machine on level and firm
ground when performing all the

7.2 Assembling the handlebar
Fitting the handlebar sleeves:
● Fit protective sleeves (I) onto
handlebar (1). Position the square hole

on the inner side of the handlebar; the

Assembling the handlebar:
● Fit handlebar (1) onto both lower

handlebar sections (2).

● Insert flat head bolts (G) through the
bores from the inside to the outside and

tighten with washers (J – with
RME 545) and rotary handles (H).

Attach anti-kink cable protection (F)

only as shown. Cable (3) must be
routed under the handlebar. Loosen
rotary handle (H) prior to assembly

if necessary.

● Insert cable (3) into anti-kink cable
protection (F).

● First insert the anti-kink cable protection
in upper bore (4) of the lower
handlebar.
● Then allow the anti-kink cable
protection to engage in lower slot (5) of
the lower handlebar.
2 Attaching left anti-kink cable
protection (RME 545 V):

● The right anti-kink cable protection (F)
is attached in the same way as on the
left side.
Cable (6) must be inserted into the anti-
kink cable protection and routed under
the handlebar.
7.3 Installing the cable guide

RME 545 C, RME 545 V:
● Insert cable guides (E) into the
recesses in housing (1) on the left and
right and turn towards the upper
handlebar.
● Insert the cable into the cable guide.
● Allow the cable guide to engage in the
two bores provided by applying slight
pressure.
RME 545:
Danger of electric shock!
In order to prevent damage to the
insulating layer on the handlebar,
only press on the cable clips by
hand. Do not use any tools (e.g.
hammer or screwdriver).
● Press cable clips (K) onto the upper
handlebar. Distance between the upper
cable clip and switch:
25 - 27 cm
● Insert the cable into both cable clips as
shown. Close tab (2) and allow it to
engage.
7.4 Installing the grass catcher
box
● Fit upper part of grass catcher
box (C) onto lower part of grass catcher
box (B).
● Push pin (D) through bores provided
from inside.
● Allow the upper part of the grass
catcher box to engage in the lower part
of the grass catcher box using slight
pressure.
● Attach the grass catcher box. (
