8 Fitting Advice
Springs are supplied as matched sets i.e. the shin/toe and heel springs are designed to work
together to give smooth progression for most users.
Condition
Heel too soft
Sinking at heel strike
Rapid transition from heel strike
through stance phase
Heel too hard
Difficulty in controlling heel action,
foot jars into mid-stance
Rapid progression through mid-
stance
Toe too soft
'Drop-off' during running
Toe too hard
Feels like 'climbing' over toe
Please contact your supplier if it is not possible to achieve a smooth gait after following the
recommendations above.
9 Heel Spring Removal & Replacement
Use appropriate health and safety equipment at all times including extraction
facilities.
Be aware of finger trap hazard at all times.

Undo the 2 Heel Spring retaining bolts.

Add Heel Wedge
1. Remove Heel Wedge (if fitted)
2. Order a softer Heel Spring category
1. Move socket posteriorly in relation to
foot
2. Plantar flex foot slightly -
note: heel strike must be maintained
1. Move socket anteriorly in relation to
foot
2. Dorsiflex foot slightly

10 10 Nm
Fit the Toe Spring into the Heel Spring cover and
tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.
Replace the Heel Wedge if fitted.
