PLEASE NOTE: All TRACOE humid assist products are
for use by one patient only and must not be cleaned or
re-used.
Dispose of the products in accordance with the valid national
regulations for waste materials.
2.
General Description
The TRACOE humid assist products are heat & moisture ex-
changers for single use. They ensure efficient humidification
and warming of inspired air for tracheostomy patients, who are
breathing spontaneously.
REF 640-CT, REF 641, REF 642 and 643 have a female 15 mm
connector that can be fitted to the standardised 15 mm connec-
tors of tracheostomy tubes or endotracheal tubes. REF 640-S can
be fitted with the TRACOE stoma and grid buttons (REF 601-603,
REF 612, REF 613).

Special Features
3.1
TRACOE humid assist III (REF 641)
This product is supplied with an oxygen supply port that can
be inserted if required on the underside of the heat & moisture
exchanger, after removing the occlusion cap.
3.2
TRACOE humid assist IV (REF 642)
The pressure relief valve on the side opposite the female
15 mm connector allows the expectoration of larger quantities of
secretions.
3.3
TRACOE humid assist kids (REF 643)
This product may be used in children with a tidal volume (VT)
of 7.5–50 ml, i.e. in children up to 6 years of age.

Indications
All TRACOE humid assist products are heat & moisture exchang-
ers that are suitable for patients in hospital or at home, who have
a tracheostoma, but are capable of spontaneous breathing. They
allow efficient humidification of the airways and warming of the
inspired air. Their use reduces drying of the trachea and bronchi,
and consequently a thickening of secretions, crust formation and
the risk of atelectasis (alveolar collapse), and at the same time
filters the inspired air.
