1. Description
For a bearing to function properly and to last, it is important that the correct mounting
method and the suitable tools are being used. Care should also be exercised with regard
to cleanliness. Mounting should, whenever possible, be carried out in a clean and
dust-free room and not in the immediate vicinity of dust producing machines. If the
bearing is to be re-used, dismounting must be conducted with the appropriate care.
This demonstration unit can be used for presentation of various methods including the
SKF Drive-up Method and SKF Oil Injection Method. The use of the SKF Oil Injection
Method saves considerable effort and avoids unnecessary damages to the parts.
The demonstration unit is used to show the following:
Shaft No. 1
• Mounting and dismounting spherical roller bearing 22320 EK/C3
with tapered bore on a tapered shaft seat
• Mounting and dismounting ball bearing 6006, which is itted on both
shaft and housing
Shaft No. 2
• Mounting and dismounting ball bearing 6315 on cylindrical shaft
seat without Oil Injection Method
• Mounting and dismounting ball bearing 6318 on cylindrical shaft
seat with Oil Injection Method
Shaft No. 3
• Mounting and dismounting spherical roller bearing 22318 EK/C3
with tapered bore on withdrawal sleeve
Shaft No. 4
• Mounting and dismounting spherical roller bearing 21320 EK/C3
