Info
The set speed requires more torque than available. Thus, the actual speed is
adaptively ramped up (duration: max. 5 min).
1 The backpressure is too high.
2 Under the application conditions, peak pressures occur during start-up.
3 A new (hard!) tube is being used.
4 The tubing had been fully squeezed for a long time and suffers deformation.
5 Tubing wall thickness is larger than 1.6 mm (1/16 inch).
6 A high viscosity medium is being pumped.
7 Mains voltage is less than nominal - 10%.
Info
The internal temperature of the pump is becoming critical.
1 The fan is broken.
2 The environmental temperature is above 40°C (104°F).
Info
Mains voltage is less than nominal - 10%.
Fault
The pumphead was opened while the pump was running.
1 For safety reasons, the lid should be opened only when the pump is at rest.
2 The closed lid is not perfectly in position because the tubing is missing.
Due to overheating, the drive shut down automatically.
1 The fan is broken.
2 The ventilation slots are blocked.
3 The environmental temperature is above 40°C.
Fault
Maximum torque has been exceeded:
1 The drive is blocked.
2 An unsuitable tubing was inserted.
3 The tubing is not mounted correctly.
4 System pressure has changed and exceeds the specified maximum
differential pressure.
5 Viscosity has gone up.
6 Mains voltage is less than nominal - 10%.
normal
Right after power-up, the pump sends service information through the LED for
service purposes.
Solution
No fault
No fault
Let the pump continue to run! If it shuts down with a red LED: check operation conditions.
1 Check if the fan expells air through the ventilation slots on the side. If it doesn't, contact your
ISMATEC service center.
2 Provide for enough ventilation around the pump.
Check the mains supply.
1 Close the lid and press the control knob once. The pump switches to ‚stand-by'.
2 Insert a tube and close the lid. Press the control knob once to switch the pump to ‚stand-by'.
Press the control knob once. If the LED changes to yellow (‚stand-by'), the pump has cooled down
already. If not, wait for a couple of minutes.
In any case, check if:
1 the fan expells air through the slots on the side. If it doesn't, contact you ISMATEC service
center.
2 the ventilation slots on the side and in the bottom are blocked. Clean them if necessary.
3 the environmental temperature is above 40°C.
1 Make sure that the pumphead is not blocked.
2 Only suitable peristaltic tubing must be used (diameter, material, wall thickness - see page 22).
3 Ascertain that the tubing has been properly inserted (see page 13).
4 Verify that no excess backpressure or vacuum has build up at the outlet or inlet (e.g. by
congestion, valves, filters, empty reservoirs without venting).
5 Inspect the medium for its temperature or other physical or chemical changes.
6 Check the mains supply.
Press the control knob once to reset the pump. Its LED changes to stand-by
No fault
