O Connect the miniDIN connection to the data line as
described in section "Electrical connection" of chapter
"6 Assembly".

Care and Maintenance

Hot surfaces on adjacent system parts during operation!
Danger of burns!
O Let the system component cool off before
disassembling the valve system.
O Do not touch the valve system during operation.
Damage to the surface caused by solvents and
aggressive detergents!
The seals on the valve system may age faster under
aggressive ambient conditions.
O Never use solvents or strong detergents.
O Make sure that all relevant system parts are not under
voltage or pressure.
O Clean the valve system at regular intervals only using
a slightly moist cloth. Only use water to do this and, if
necessary, a mild detergent.
Cleaning
The device must be regularly cleaned if used in explosive
areas. The intervals have to be stipulated by the operator
in accordance with the local ambient conditions, e.g. with
dust deposits of approx. 0.5 to 1 mm.
O Note the cleaning intervals in the system documentation.
Danger of explosion due to electrostatic charge!
Separation of charges may occur if you clean the valve
system with dry cloths.
O Only clean the valve system with damp cloths.
Maintenance
O Visually inspect the integrity of the valve system every
month.
O Observe the system-specific maintenance intervals.

10 Disassembly and Disposal

Disassembling the valve system
Danger of injury if disassembled under pressure or
voltage!
Disassembly when under pressure or electrical voltage
can lead to injuries and damage to the valve system or
system parts.
O Make sure that the relevant system part is not under
voltage or pressure before you disassemble the
valve system.
O Protect the system against being switched on.
Hot surfaces on adjacent system parts during operation!
Danger of burns!
O Let the system component cool off before
disassembling the valve system.
O Do not touch the valve system during operation.
1. Remove the pneumatic and electrical connections.
2. Loosen and remove the four mounting screws on the
end plates. The valve system can now be removed.
Disposing of the valve system
Careless disposal of the valve system will lead to pollution
of the environment.
Raw materials employed can no longer be recycled.
O Dispose of the valve system in accordance with the
currently applicable regulations in your country.
11 Troubleshooting
Danger of explosion!
Modifications to devices operated in explosive areas are
not permitted!
O Make sure that device repairs are only done by
AVENTICS personnel or persons specially trained for
this by AVENTICS (trained specialists).
O Check the connections, operating voltage and working
pressure of the system part if malfunctions occur.
If this is the cause of the malfunction, proceed as follows:
1. Ensure that the valve system is not under pressure and
disconnect the system part from the supply voltage.
2. Remedy the malfunction.
3. Restart the system part and valve system.
Additional help for malfunctions can be found in the
following table:
