3 Safety

The following safety guidelines must be observed in order to avoid injuries, damage to objects
and the anti-static bar.
Warning:
- The anti-static bar is designed solely for neutralizing electrostatically charged surfaces.
- Electrical installation and repairs must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance
with national and local regulations.
- The anti-static bar can only be powered by a Limited Power Source (LPS) or NEC Class 2
power supply.
- Make sure that the equipment is properly earthed. Earthing is necessary to ensure the
correct and safe operation and to prevent electric shocks upon contact.
- When working on the equipment, the equipment must be voltage-free
- The emitters are sharp and can cause injury.
- A small amount of ozone is produced during the ionization process. The ozone concentration
around the electrodes depends on many factors, such as the amount of space around the
anti-static bar and the air circulation. As a result, no general value can be given for the ozone
concentration.
- The device loses its warranty if, without prior written approval, changes, modifications, etc.
are made or if non-original parts are used for repair.
- The Vicinion is not intended for use as a safety component in machines.
The high-voltage conducting emitters (8 kV) are current-limited at 120 µA, making them
electrically safe to touch and shock-free.
