4.5 Generator supplied with propane gas
DANGER: The propane gas is extremely flammable and explosive (under
certain conditions). Hence, it is completely forbidden to smoke, to make fire or to
make any kind of flame nearby of the cylinder and generator, as well as in the
place where the cylinders are stored.
DANGER: Do not place the generator in non-ventilated places. The
accumulation of propane gas, in case of leakage, can cause an explosive
atmosphere. After each use, always close the gas flow in the cylinder regulator.
The original propane gas is colorless. The distribution companies add a very
strong and characteristic odor to the gas to make easy the detection of a leakage.
Check if there are local or national regulations in your city, district, country, that
regarding the use and storage of liquefied petroleum gases such as propane.
Comply with regulations and your gas supplier will be able to inform you.
NOTE: Only use propane cylinders. Propane has a greater capacity to gasify
than butane, especially at low temperatures. Thus, propane is the most suitable
option for high consumption equipment with a thermal engine.
When using butane gas cylinders, the gasification may not be enough to supply
the generator with high loads. This limitation is greater at low temperatures
because the cylinder pressure will be even lower. At an ambient temperature of -
2ºC, the pressure of the butane gas is balanced with the atmospheric pressure. In
this situation, the supply would not happen. On the other hand, propane keeps a
higher pressure at low temperatures, making it as the most recommended.
An ice cover may appear at the bottom of the propane cylinder, especially if
consumption is constant and high.
Connections:
NOTE: on the control panel, before connecting the propane, you must ensure
that the fuel selector is in the OFF position.
Due to the different regulations between countries, as well as the variety of types
of cylinders and regulators, it is not possible to include a standardized kit.
At your trusted dealer, purchase a hose not less than 1.5 meters long and certified
for LPG (PROPANO / BUTANO). The hose must have an internal diameter of 9 or
11mm, so that it matches with the gas inlet installed in the generator.
