4. Checks before use
4.1 Battery connection and charging
The battery is delivered with one
terminal
disconnected.
connecting the battery, make sure the
fuel selector and starter switch are in
the "OFF" position.
If you are unsure about identifying the
fuel selector, see chapter 3.1 (control
panel).
To avoid any kind of unwanted
connection, connect the generator
power cables to the battery terminals
as indicated below:
Negative (-) cable to negative (-) terminal (black)
Positive (+) discharge lead to positive (+) terminal (red)
Charging cable on the charging terminal (white)
NOTE: Respect the polarity of the cables, connect the red cable (+) to the red
terminal (+) of the battery and the black cable (-) to the negative terminal (-) of the
battery. The white charging cable to the battery charging terminal. An incorrect
connection can damage electrical parts of the equipment and the battery itself.
NOTE: Be very careful to avoid unwanted contact with the battery terminals
and cables, between them or against a metallic part of the machine.
Battery charging: while the generator is running the battery is automatically
charged.
