If the main housing is not properly seated and secured to the motor housing, the safety switch (B)
will trip and the motor will stop. In this case, proceed as follows:
• Open the main housing as described above.
• Clean the cutting and ejection area carefully, and remove any objects that could block the
cutting
roller.
• Carefully close the main housing and tighten the housing locking screw (A).
• ATTENTION! Before loosening the housing locking screw (A), ALWAYS switch off the device
using the On/Off switch (C) and pull out the mains plug.
6.5 OPERATION
ATTENTION! Check that the feed hopper is empty before starting the machine.
• Keep your face and body away from the intake opening.
• Ensure that you keep your hands, other body parts and clothing out of the filling chamber and
discharge chute, and away from any other moving parts.
• Never stand on a higher surface than the shredder when feeding material into the intake
opening.
• Stand outside the ejection zone when operating the machine.
• Always remove the shredded material from the ejection zone before it piles up. This stops
shredded material from being forced back up through the feed hopper and causing accidents.
• If the shredder is blocked, switch it off first of all, pull out the mains plug from the mains socket,
and wait until the machine has come to a complete stop before removing the blockage. Keep
the On/Off switch (C) clean and clear of foreign objects.
• Always feed the material to be shredded into the intake opening from the left-hand side. The
material is automatically drawn in by the

• Do not feed soft waste such as kitchen waste into the shredder. Compost it directly.
• Dense branches with foliage must be completely shredded before new material is fed in.
• Ensure that the shredded material can fall freely out of the discharge chute. Otherwise, there is
a risk of blockage.
• The ventilation slots must not be covered by the collection bag or shredded material.
6.6 USING THE PRODDER
Smaller objects can be better inserted into the shredder with the help of the prodder provided.
Always wait until the material has been completely shredded before introducing a new load.
ATTENTION: Never use the device without the feed hopper!
