5.3 Collection box
• Lift the safety handle up and slide the collection box onto the base frame.
• When you let go of the safety handle, the collection box is automatically locked in place.
• To remove the collection box, lift up the safety handle again and slide the collection box out of
the base frame.
6.0 Startup
NOTE: Always use the correct mains voltage!
The mains voltage must match the voltage specified on the device's rating plate. The machine
should be supplied with a trip current of max. 30 mA by means of a residual current device (RCD).
An extension cable with too small a cross-section leads to a significant reduction in the device's
performance. For cables measuring up to 25 m long, a cross-section of min. 3 x 1.5 mm² is
required. For cables measuring more than 25 m long, the cross-section must be min. 2.5 mm².
ATTENTION! The main AC power supply may experience a voltage drop when the device is
started. This may affect other devices. Contact your local power supply specialist for more
information if necessary.
6.1 ON/OFF SWITCH
• To switch on the shredder, push the On/Off switch (C) to position 'I'.
• To switch off, push the On/Off switch (C) to position '0'.
NOTE: The machine is fitted with a safety switch to prevent unintentional restart after an
interruption to the power supply.
Never carry or move the machine with your finger on the On/Off switch. Ensure that the machine
is switched off when you insert the plug into the socket.
Wait until the shredder has reached its operating speed before feeding in material.
6.2 QUICK STOP
The electric motor is fitted with a safety brake and stops within 5 seconds of switch-off. The roller
also stops rotating as a result.
6.3 MOTOR PROTECTION
Overloading (e.g. if the
cause the device to come to a stop after a few seconds. The motor protection switch automatically
cuts off the power supply to protect the motor from damage.
Wait at least 1 minute before restarting the shredder by pressing the On/Off switch (C).
If the motor protection has tripped, proceed as follows and check the feed hopper:
WARNING! Wear protective gloves at all times!
• Pull out the mains plug.
• Unscrew the housing locking screw (A) and open the main housing.
• Clean the cutting and ejection area. Remove any branches or objects that could block the
cutting
roller.
• Close the main housing and tighten the housing locking screw (A).
• Press the On/Off switch (C) to restart.
6.4 SAFETY SWITCH
The shredder is fitted with a safety switch (B), where the main housing meets the motor housing.
