chute. Ensure that the motor is kept free of debris and other material buildup to protect the
motor from damage and the possibility of fire. Be aware that, when the starting mechanism is
engaged on motor-driven machines, the cutting tool also becomes operational.
• Ensure that all the covers and deflectors are in place and in good working order.
• Do not change the motor's regulator setting. It regulates the safe maximum operating speed
and protects the motor and all the rotating parts from damage due to excessive speed. If you
have any problems, contact the Customer Service team.
• Do not transport the machine while the motor is running.
• Switch off the motor as soon as you leave the work area and pull out the mains plug.
• Do not tip the machine while the motor is running.
• Ensure that your posture is appropriate and always keep your balance to ensure a secure footing
at all times.
• Stop the machine and pull out the mains plug. Ensure that all the moving parts have come to a
complete stop:
- whenever you leave the machine unattended.
- before clearing a blockage or cleaning blocked channels.
- before checking, cleaning or otherwise working on the machine.
2.7 SAFETY INFORMATION RELATING TO MAINTENANCE
AND STORAGE
• Check the device for faults or damage. If damaged, have the electrical equipment repaired by
a specialist before use.
• If the machine is switched off for maintenance, storage or replacement of an accessory, ensure
that the mains plug is disconnected from the mains. Ensure that all the moving parts are
stationary and that you remove the key (if there is one). Let the machine cool down before
performing any maintenance, adjustment or other work on it.
• When maintaining the cutting tool, be aware that it can still rotate by means of the starting
mechanism, even if the motor itself is disabled due to the cover locking mechanism. Never
attempt to bypass the protective device's locking function.
• Replace worn and damaged parts one set at a time to avoid imbalance.
2.8 ADDITIONAL SAFETY INFORMATION FOR DEVICES WITH
A COLLECTION BOX
• Switch off the shredder before attaching or removing the collection box.
