GENERAL INFORMATION AND PRECAUTIONS
Aermotor recommends that a licensed ground water professional install this product.
Please read thoroughly these instructions BEFORE attempting to install your new submersible pump.
It can not only save you time but also enable you to get the maximum performance from your water system.
Your new submersible pump is precision equipment designed for years of trouble-free service, provided that it is
properly installed.
The pump package includes pump, motor, and lead on all units. A control box is required, and sold separately,
on all three wire, single phase units. The two wire, single phase units do not require a control box. Magnetic
starters, equipped with the correct quick trip heaters, are required for three phase units. Properly grounded light-
ning arrestors are recommended on all installations that do not have built-in lightning protection in the motor.

Be sure that the well is clean and straight. The submersible pump is designed to allow the passage of a
small amount of sand; however, abrasive pumpage for a prolonged period will shorten the life of any brand
pump.

The pump should be installed at least 10 feet above the bottom of the well to prevent fill in sediments from
covering the motor, which could result in overheating and damage to the motor windings. Where possible,
the pump should also be installed at least 15 feet below the lowest pumping water level.
3.
Be sure that the voltage and phase shown on the motor and the control are the same and that they agree
with the power source that is available.
4.
Never support the weight of the pump on the cable. Support it with the drop pipe and/or an auxiliary rope
during installation, take care not to damage the insulation on the cable.
5.
Use the proper accessories, including an adequate pressure switch for the system. Be sure that the pres-
sure tank is large enough to keep the pump from cycling too often.
6.
BE SURE WIRING AND AN EFFECTIVE MOTOR GROUND ARE INSTALLED TO COMPLY WITH LOCAL
CODES.
7.
THESE PUMPS ARE INTENDED FOR INSTALLATION IN WATER WELLS. DO NOT USE THESE PUMPS
IN SWIMMING POOLS.
PRE-INSTALLATION
(If Pump and Motor have been pre-assembled, see Page 4.)

1.
Compare the motor and pump end nameplates to make certain they are matched.
2.
Carefully plug connector into motor connection. Tighten down connector. Make certain jam nut is tight in the
Socket of the motor.
3.
Rotate motor shaft by hand to assure it revolves freely. Place a small amount of Vaseline on the splines of
the motor shaft.
All mating surfaces of pump end and motor must be clean and free of burrs.
Hold pump end coupling in position and carefully position pump end on the motor.
Attach the four nuts to motor studs and tighten down evenly.
Rotate coupling by hand to assure that pump-motor combination revolves freely.
Make sure cable is flat and parallel on pump so the cable guard tightens down to the pump shell.

Attach the intake screen by wrapping ít around the motor bracket and snapping the ends together. Operating
of pump without the screen will void the warranty.
