5.2- Operation
Before start cutting
• Make sure the power trigger lock (13) works properly.
• Make sure the guide bar (1) is not damaged, deformed or badly worn. Refer to Section 6.2 for
details.
• Make sure the saw chain (2) is sharpened and properly installed with proper tension.
• Make sure battery pack (5) is sufficiently charged and properly installed.
• Make sure the oil tank (11) is filled with chain oil and check the chain oil supply.
• Wear PPE as recommended in Section 3.3.
Chain brake and protective guard (3) operations (Fig. 3)
• The manual chain brake is a safety feature which is activated if pressure is applied against the
guard or when, in the event of kickback, the operator's hand strikes the lever.
• Position A: Brake is disengaged and the product can be operated.
• Position B: Brake is engaged and the product cannot be started ot run.
Basic cutting techniques
• Hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands. Always use left hand to grip front handle and right
hand to grip rear handle. Make sure your footing is firm.
• Keep feet apart. Keep weight on both feet.
• Allow the chainsaw to run in full speed before start cutting.
• Keep the left arm as straight as possible.
• Engage the cut with holding the tool firmly in place to avoid possible bouncing or skating, see
Fig. 4a and 4b.
• Keep the unit running the entire time you are cutting, maintain a steady speed.
• Allow the chain to cut for you; exert only light downward pressure. Do not force the chainsaw,
or the motor will be overloaded.
• Continue the cut until complete guide bar is through the branch.
• CAUTION! Cut one branch at a time.
• WARNING! Beware of kickback.
• To keep total control while sawing through, reduce the pressure at the end of the cut without
