For vertical ducting with a round duct at top of

hood: Install the round duct plate over the knockout
opening using 2 screws from the parts bag.
To accommodate off-center ductwork, the round duct
plate can be installed up to ½" on either side of the
hood center.
Note: Insert a small length of duct over the rectangular
damper assembly or the round duct plate and seal the
joint using aluminum foil duct tape to ease connection with
the house ductwork.

Observe this information when installing the appliance.

Before installing, turn power OFF at the service panel.
Lock service panel to prevent power from being turned

5.1 Kitchen cabinet types
Identify your type of kitchen cabinet before you start
installation.
Check the bottom of the kitchen cabinet where you want to
install your hood.

5.2 Option 1: Installing the hood with
mounting brackets
Preparing the hood location
Use the included mounting brackets and template for
installation. Only one person is needed to install the
appliance.
Note: This one-person installation method is designed for
use with kitchen cabinets that have the same width as the
range hood width. If the cabinet is more than ½" wider
than the range hood width, use the standard installation
method.

Identify the proper side of the included paper template

VERTICAL EXHAUST or HORIZONTAL EXHAUST.
– Follow the instructions printed on the template.
– The template identifies the placement of ductwork
and electrical cutout in the cabinet or wall.
– For a non-ducted, i.e. recirculation installation, DO
NOT cut a duct access hole, only cut the hole for
electrical wiring.
– If you are replacing a hood and plan to use the
existing duct and electrical cutout, you may not need
to carry out the steps pertaining to making the
cutouts.
Measure and mark the hood center line on cabinet

Align the center line (℄) on the template with the hood

the edge of the template against back wall; check the
description on the template. When facing the
installation, A and B on the template must be on the
right side.
For framed cabinets in combination with vertical
exhaust installation, fold over the rear edge of template
equal to the depth of the cabinet frame at the wall. Fold
the template along the graduated scale C on the
template.
Tape the template in place.
