Preparation
Engine oil
NOTICE
The multi-purpose engine has been shipped with-
out engine oil. Do not start the engine until you
have filled it with the sufficient engine oil.
1.
Place the multi-purpose engine on a level surface.
2.
Remove the oil filler cap.

Fill the specified amount of the recommended
engine oil.
NOTICE
Be sure no foreign material enters the crankcase.
Recommended engine oil:
YAMALUBE SAE 10W-30 Performance All Pur-
pose, SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40
YAMALUBE SAE 5W-30 Performance All Pur-
pose
Recommended engine oil grade:
API Service SE type or higher
Engine oil quantity:
2.0 L (2.11 US qt, 1.76 Imp qt)
4.
Wipe the engine oil dipstick clean, insert it back
into the oil filler hole (without screwing it in), and
then remove it again to check the oil level.
