3 - Similarly, the front derailleur cable will be placed
from the bottom bracket guide (on the side with
the small curved dropout facing up) into the down
tube, then through the headset, passing through the
upper headset bearing and continuing through the
same headset components to the handlebars.
4 - Before placing the fork and headset, be sure
to place the foam tubes (510 mm length) on both
derailleur cables.
5 - Insert the rear brake hose through the left rear
dropout, then into the bottom bracket (above the
aluminum insert of the bottom bracket), then up
the down tube, following the same path through the
headset to the handlebars.
6 - Ensure sufficient length to accommodate the
more complex routing hidden within the headset
components, then into the cable guide (Fig. 1),
which perfectly directs the cables to the handlebars,
ultimately reaching the control levers. All these
bends require significant length, so it is always
better to cut after final simulation, keeping a 20 cm
margin before the final assembly.
7 - Once these two cables and the brake hose are
routed, place the front brake hose in the designated
fork and also allow extra length to meet the curve
requirements under the stem and along the
handlebars.
8 - (See A & B) Now place the fork in the frame,
ensuring the lower bearing is greased and properly
positioned on its cone. We reach the main step
where the four cables are inside the headset. It is
necessary to align all the headset parts with the two
elongated slots on the front of the fork, allowing the
two cables and two hoses to be placed perfectly.
To facilitate this operation, it is preferable to have a
mounting stand that also holds the fork in addition
to the frame, freeing your hands to guide the four
cables into the spacer, then the cable guide (video
tutorial available). Quickly place the stem above to
assist with holding it in place, and if needed, tighten
slightly so that the stiffness of the cables does not
push the assembly upwards along the pivot.
9 - You can also perform this pre-assembly to
determine the number of spacers desired, the
desired pivot cut, and help determine the lengths of
the cables needed for the final assembly.
10 - It is best to remove the fork if you need to recut
the pivot; note that this will impact the lengths of the
four cables.
11 - Finalize the assembly and tighten to the
recommended torque settings (see the specification
table on page 10 of your manual).
