3 INSTALLATION
The position in which the drive will be fitted must allow for safe and easy manual release of
the product.
The motorisation must be disengaged during installation.
3.1 Assembling the manual release handle
[1]. Insert the release handle into the specific housing on the motor.
[2]. Tighten the release handle.
[3]. Fit the screw cover.
3.2 Unlocking the motorisation - Fig. 6
[1]. Turn the key a quarter of a turn to the le .
[2]. Turn the release handle to the right.
3.3 Installing the mounting system - Fig. 7 and 8
The motor mounting kit provided is to be used on a concrete base. For all other types of
mounting, use the appropriate fittings.
[1]. Position the template:
- parallel to the gate,
- with the symbol on the pinion pointing towards the gate,
- by moving it by 25 mm in relation to the front line of the rack (if the rack is fitted with
a cover, measure from the line on the rack, not on the cover),
- so that it does not obstruct movement and to ensure the gate is able to open and
close completely.
[2]. Mark the location for the ground mountings.
[3]. Drill to a depth of 60 mm.
[4]. Push in the coach screws.
[5]. Place a washer and nut onto each coach screw.
[6]. Tighten the nuts to secure the coach screws into the ground.
[7]. Add a nut to each coach screw and screw them on in order to position them 23 mm
from the ground.
[8]. Fit the metal plate onto the nuts.
[9]. Check that the metal plate is level (North-South and East-West).
[10]. Fit the motor onto the metal plate.

[11]. Check the codes stated on fig. 8 of the "illustrations" booklet.
[12]. Add a washer and nut to each coach screw without tightening them.
3.4 Installing the motor - Fig. 9 and 10
[1]. Push the motor towards the gate.
[2]. Ensure the pinion is correctly positioned under the rack.
[3]. Adjust the height of the motor and/or rack in order to achieve a rack-pinion clearance of
approximately 2 mm. This adjustment is important in order to prevent premature wear of
the pinion and the rack; the pinion must not bear the weight of the gate.
[4]. Check:
- the adjustment nuts are all in contact with the metal plate,
- the gate runs correctly,
- the clearance between the rack and pinion does not vary significantly over the gate's
travel.
[5]. Tighten the nut on each coach screw to fix the motor in place.
3.5 Fitting the end limit brackets - Fig. 11
[1]. Manually move the gate to the open position.
[2]. Position a bracket onto the rack so that it activates the motor end limit contact.
[3]. Screw the bracket onto the rack.
[4]. Manually move the gate to the closed position, then repeat steps 2 and 3 to fit the second
bracket to the rack.
3.6 Connecting the safety edge - Fig. 12
For the installation to be compliant with the standards in force, an active safety
edge with autotest function must be connected.
Safety edge with autotest ref. 9019611.
3.7 Connecting to the power supply - Fig. 13
To connect the motor to the power supply, use a 3 x 1.5 mm² cable for use outdoors (minimum
type H07RN-F).
Connect the neutral (N) to terminal 1 of the motor.
Connect the live (L) to terminal 2 on the motor.
Connect the earth wire to the earth terminal on the base of the motor.
The earth wire must always be longer than the live and neutral to ensure that it is
the last to be disconnected if the connector is pulled out.
The cable clamps supplied must be used.
For low-voltage cables, ensure that they can resist a tensile force of 100 N. Check
that the conductors have not moved when this force is applied.
3.8 Direction of rotation - Fig. 14
Set dipswitch no. 3 to ON if the motor is installed on the le or OFF if the motor is on the right.
3.9 Re-engaging the motorisation - Fig. 15
[1]. Place the gate approximately 1 m from its closed position.
[2]. Turn the release handle to the le .
[3]. Move the gate manually until the drive mechanism re-locks.
[4]. Turn the key a quarter of a turn to the right.
Switch on the power to the installation before commissioning.
4 QUICK COMMISSIONING
4.1 Memorising the remote controls
To memorise a 2- or 4-button remote control - Fig. 16
[1]. Press the PROG button on the control unit for 2 seconds. The red indicator will come on
permanently.
[2]. Press the radio control channel to be assigned to the motor within 2 min. The red
indicator will flash, the remote control is stored.
If this procedure is carried out using a channel which has already been memorised, this
channel will be cleared.
To add other 2- or 4-button remote controls:
Repeat the above procedure.
