6 CONTROLS AND USE
6.1 VALVE ADJUSTMENT
The air supply for combustion is controlled by a
valve, which is operated by a control handle.
The control handle (A), is used for switching on
the cold stove and burning denser wood. The air
supply during ignition must be maximum, i.e.
with the lever in the rightmost position. When
the flame is stable, the air can be gently shut off
by sliding the lever to the left.
The best indicator for fire control is the colour of
the flame. Excessively dark flames, which create
soot in the chamber and black puffs of smoke,
are the manifestation of poor combustion due
to a lack of air. It will then be necessary to add
air by adjusting the lever to the right to improve
combustion.
Please also note that the length of the logs must
be a maximum of 50 cm and no more than 12 cm
in diameter; the moisture content of the wood
must be less than 18-20%.
6.2 CHECKS PRIOR TO SWITCHING ON
You have read and perfectly understood the
contents of this instructions manual.
Before lighting the stove, you must ensure that:
• the combustion chamber is clean;
• every element that could burn has been
removed (instructions, various stickers).
6.3 FIRST USE
During the first hours of use the paints used
for the stove finish may release an unpleasant
odour. You might also smell the typical odour of
metal parts subject to high temperatures. Make
sure sufficient air circulation is guaranteed in the
room. These unavoidable inconveniences will
disappear after the first hours of operation. To
reduce your discomfort to a minimum, keep the
stove on for a few hours on low power and in the
beginning, do not overload it, avoiding intense
heating/cooling cycles.
At the initial start-up, the paint finishes drying
and hardens. Accordingly, to avoid ruining it,
we advise you not to touch the stove's painted
surfaces at this time.

6.4 SWITCHING ON THE STOVE
To light the stove, proceed as described below:
STEP
ACTION
Clean the combustion grille by
removing the residue left over from
1
previous use. Empty the ash drawer
as needed
Open the valve by moving it all the
2
way to the right (when the handle is
hot, a glove should be used)
Place two medium-sized logs on
each side of the base (Fig. 6.2). Note:
in order to prevent the glass from
3
becoming covered with soot, it is
important that logs are not placed
near it.
Add pieces of wood, arranged in
a criss-cross pattern, gradually
4
decreasing their size, 8-10 pieces in
total
Place natural fire starter on the grille
5
under the ignition stack, and light it
6
Close the combustion chamber door
Do not overload the stove. Exceeding the
recommended load can damage parts of the
stove and void the warranty. Excessive loading,
in addition to not being efficient, produces
excessively high smoke temperatures that can
damage the stove and the flue pipe.
All external surfaces of this stove will reach
high temperatures. Always remember to use a
protective glove during the operation.
The best technique for lighting the stove is
lighting from above. It is an environmentally
friendly technique and helps to keep the glass
perfectly clean. To perform this ignition, the larger
pieces should be placed at the bottom and the
smaller pieces at the top, as shown in the figures.
Place the fire starters on top and light them.
