Use & Maintenance
WORKTOPS
MARBLE AND GRANITE WORKTOPS
Do not use citric acid (present for example in fruit, tomatoes and citrus fruits) which
acts on lusty services, removing their original shine. Even cleaning products or edible
liquids (olive oil, wine, vinegar, etc.) could damage the surface if not immediately removed
after coming to contact with it. Using hot pads to avoid heat marks is recommended. Hot
pans, other recipients for cooking with heat or coffee pots placed directly on the marble
worktops could irreparably damage the surface. Excessive and concentrated weights
could cause breaking and cracking of the material. It is recommended never to get up on
or sit on the worktops. Remember that the pans and skillets must not stick out beyond the
hob so as not to damage it with heat. Normally the producers of hobs specify what size
pans and skillets to use in the user instructions.
LAMINATED WORKTOPS
The worktops must not be left with water puddles on the surface. Dry the top where
water may have fallen accidentally. Make sure that water is not dripping down off of the
edges of the top. Use trivets and cutting boards to place very hot objects (e.g: coffee
pots, pots, frying pans...) and avoid scratches. Do not use abrasive material like steel
wool or products containing abrasive creams or powder detergents. Absolutely do not use
acetone, trichloroethylene, or ammonia. Even fruit juices and chemical or health products
risk discolouring it. So remove them immediately after use. Using hot pads to avoid heat
marks is recommended. Hot pans, other recipients for cooking with heat or coffee pots
placed directly on the laminate worktops could irreparably damage the surface. Do not
drag objects over the top that could scratch it and if you use knives or cutting objects,
always use a cutting board to avoid damage to the top.
