OPERATIONAL CONTROLS AND ADJUSTMENTS
HOW TO START AND STOP THE PLANER
Make sure that the switch is in the "OFF" position before plugging cord into outlet. Do not touch the plug's metal
prongs when unplugging or plugging in the cord.
1. The power switch (A) Fig. 11 is located on the front of the planer. To turn the machine on, push the "START" button.
2. To turn the machine off, push the stop button (B).
HOW TO LOCk THE SWITCH IN THE "OFF" POSITION
IMPORTANT: When the machine is not in use, the switch should be locked in the off position to prevent unauthorized use, using
a padlock (C) Fig. 12 with a 3/16" diameter shackle.
B
HOW TO RAISE AND LOWER THE TABLE
Adjust the table height by loosening the lock knob (A) Fig.
13, and rotating the elevation handwheel (B). To raise the
table, turn the handwheel (B) clockwise. To lower the table,
turn handwheel (B) counter-clockwise. Tighten the lock knob
(A) Fig. 13 after adjustment. The English/Metric table height
scale (C) Fig. 13 will show the table height setting.
IMPORTANT: For best results, move the table lower than the
required setting, then raise it to the correct setting.
HOW TO SET THE FEED ROLLER SPEEDS
Your planer is equipped with feed roller speeds of 20 and 30
feet per minute depending on belt placement on the pulleys.
A faster feed rate is used for general planing operations, while
a slower feed rate (because it provides more cuts per inch of
stock) gives a finer and smoother finish to the workpiece.
1.
To engage the feed rollers, push the button (A) Fig. 14 and
pull downward on handle (B).
