The wheelchair could tip forwards if you are standing on the footrest.
Never step on the footrest whilst sitting down or getting up from the wheelchair.
CAUTION!
If the brakes are disarmed or broken, the wheelchair could move in an uncontrolled
manner.
Do not lean on the brakes whilst sitting down or standing up from the wheelchair.
1. Pull the parking brakes.
2. Place your feet on the ground.
3. Hold on tightly to the wheelchair and, if necessary, to a fixed object nearby.
4. Slowly move onto the chair.
6.4 FORWARD MOVEMENT AND CHANGING DIRECTION WITH THE WHEELCHAIR
Using the handrims it is possible to move the wheelchair forwards and change direction.
Before moving without a helper, it is necessary to identify the tipping point of the wheelchair.

The wheelchair could tip backwards, if an anti-tip device is not installed.
When determining the tipping point of the wheelchair, a helper should be placed
directly behind the wheelchair to catch the wheelchair before it tips.
To stop the wheelchair from tipping, install an anti-tip device.

When adjusting the wheelchair, check its behaviour in the event of forward tipping and
adjust your driving style accordingly.

CAUTION!
Danger of tipping
A heavy load attached to the backrest could alter the centre of gravity of the
wheelchair.
In this event, adjust your driving behaviour to account for the load.
Determining the tipping point
1. Release the brake.
2. Briefly move forwards, hold onto both handrims and move backwards giving a slight push.
3. Determine the tipping point by shifting your weight and contrasting the movement of the handrims. 2
6.5 GOING UP AND DOWN STEPS AND DROPS
WARNING!
Danger of falling!
Going up and down steps you could lose balance and tip the wheelchair.
Always mover slowly and carefully when going over steps, such as pavements, and
drops. Do not go over steps taller than 25cm.
CAUTION!
An anti-tip device prevents the wheelchair from tipping backwards.
Take off the anti-tip device before going over steps or drops.
