5. PUT INTO SERVICE
5.1 SAFETY INDICATIONS
CAUTION!
Danger of injuries to patient.
Before putting the wheelchair into service check it is in a good state and the
functioning of the most important functions, See the maintenance plan, sec. 8.
Your trusted dealer will prepare the wheelchair for use. The dealer will explain the main functions and will make sure
that the wheelchair matches your requests and needs.
6. MOVING WITH THE WHEELCHAIR
6.1 SAFETY INDICATIONS
WARNING!
Danger of accident!
The movement behaviour of the wheelchair could be considerably compromised if the
pressure of the tyres is not the same.
Check the pressure of the tyres before any movement.
CAUTION!
Danger of crushing!
The distance between the rear wheel and the wheel's mudguard could be so small to
cause the crushing of fingers.
Always make sure to move the wheelchair using solely the handrims.

6.2 BRAKING DURING MOVEMENT
During movement it is possible to brake the wheelchair putting pressure with your hands on the handrims.
WARNING!
Risk of falling after sudden braking!
If you use the parking brakes during movement, it is no longer possible to control the
direction of the movement and the wheelchair could become suddenly blocked, which
could lead to a collision or fall from the wheelchair.
Never pull the parking brakes during movement.
WARNING!
Risk of falling off the wheelchair If the wheelchair is quickly decelerated by a helper
who pulls the push handles, the user could fall from the wheelchair.
Always fasten the seatbelt if present.
Make sure that the helper received individual training on how to push occupied
wheelchairs.
CAUTION!
Risk of burns on the skin
The handrims could warm up, if you brake the wheelchair for a long period of time.
You could burn the palm of your hands.
Wear an appropriate pair of gloves.
Grab the handrims and exercise a homogenous pressure with both hands, until the wheelchair stops completely.
6.3 TRANSFERS FROM THE WHEELCHAIR
WARNING!
Risk of falling!
During transfers the risk of falling is very high.
Only sit down and get up from the wheelchair with no help if you are physically able to
do so.
