D Diode test
Attention!
Make sure that all the circuit parts, switches and
components as well as other objects to be measured
are disconnected from the voltage source at all times.
Proceed as follows to measure diodes and other semiconductor
paths (pay attention to the figures):
1. Set the rotary switch to "Ω".
2. Set the diode test function via the "SELECT" button "".
3. Connect the measuring cables with the measuring instrument as
done for the resistance measurement and connect the test prods
with the currentless test object.

".0L" for overload is displayed for open or not connected measuring
lines or for high-resistance (or interrupted) semiconductor paths. If
the p-n-junction functions properly, a value of between 0.45 and
0.75VDC will be displayed for Si-diode paths and a value of bet-
ween 0.2 and 0.4VDC will be shown for Ge-diode paths. But if ".0L"
(for overload) is displayed instead of a voltage value, the diode path
is interrupted or the measuring lines have been mixed up. If a volta-
ge higher than 1V is measured for transistors it is possibly a transi-
stor with integrated resistors.
For light emitting diodes a conducting-state voltage of about 1.4 to
2.2VDC is measured. If it is a low-current LED, the measurement
current may be sufficiently high to cause this LED to emit light.
