D Operating position
Position the multimeter always in such a way that you can read the
liquid crystal display (English abbreviation: LCD) or with the digital
display showing upwards. A stationary clamp is provided at the rear
side of the instrument to facilitate the reading in stationary operation.
Carrying out Measurements
A Voltage measurement (DC, AC)
Attention!
In no event exceed the max. permitted input values, neither do it
when measuring superposed direct voltages (e.g. ripple volta-
ges). Max. 1000VDC or 750VACrms.
Do not contact circuits or parts of circuits if you measure volta-
ges higher than 25V ACrms or 35V DC pending within them.
Proceed as follows to measure voltages (pay attention to the figures):
1. Set the rotary switch to V~/-.
2. Set the type of voltage, AC or DC, by activating the "SELECT"
button.
3. Connect the black measuring line with the COM socket and the
red measuring line with the "HzVΩ" socket.
4. Now connect the measuring prods to the object to be measured
(load, switch etc.). The measured voltage is displayed.
For an input capacity of less than 100pF, the input resistance (impe-
dance) is about 4000 MΩ in the mV-range, in the other ranges
(automatic switch-over) 10MΩ.As soon as a "-" (minus) appears
before the individual measured value, the measured (direct) voltage
is negative or the measuring prods have been mixed up.
