Achimed
Intended purpose
Achimed is a bandage for compression
of the Achilles tendon.
Indications
All indications in which soft tissue
compression with local pressure pad(s)
on the Achilles tendon is necessary,
such as:
• Acute and chronic inflammation of
the Achilles tendon
• Achillodynia
• Achillobursitis
Contraindications
None known at present.
Risks / Side Effects
If the aids are too tight, this can cause
local pressure sores or constriction of
blood vessels or nerves. Therefore you
should consult the doctor treating you
before you use it if the following
circumstances apply to you:
• Condition or injury of the skin in the
area of application, particularly with
infectious indications (excessive heat,
swelling or reddening)
• Paraesthesia and circulatory disor-
ders (e.g. as seen in diabetes, varicose
veins)
• Lymph drainage disorders – equally,
swelling of soft tissue adjacent to the
area of application which is not rela-
ted to a condition
When wearing snug-fitting aids, this
can result in localised skin
inflammation or irritation that is due to
mechanical irritation of the skin
(particularly in conjunction with
sweating) or due to the composition of
the material.
Intended users and patient target
groups
Healthcare professionals and patients,
including persons who play a
supporting role in care, are the
intended users for this device, provided
that they have received briefing on this
from healthcare professionals.
Patient target group: Healthcare
professionals should provide care to
adults and children, applying the
available information on the
measurements/sizes and required
functions/indications, in line with the
information provided by the
manufacturer, and acting under their

Note on wearing
Supports cause the greatest effect
during physical exercise. In principal,
the support can be worn all day.
However, this depends on how
comfortable the support is to wear. The
support should be taken off for longer
breaks (e.g. sitting for a long time or a
long car drive, sleeping).
The support is suitable for use in water.
After use, please rinse out the product
thoroughly.
Putting on / Taking off
• Wrap over the upper part of the
support till the outside edge of the
silicon inlay (figure ).
• Take hold off the support in the
middle of the silicone inlays and pull it
over the foot till the heel part fits
tightly.
• Turn back the upper part of the
support and correct the fit if
necessary. It fits properly if the seam
runs over the middle of the heel and
the Achilles tendon is noticeably
