Hydrogen peroxide < 3 %
Hydrogen peroxide and chlorhexidine are mutually not compatible, i.e. you must flush with demineralized water for 60s before filling
with the other rinsing medium ("continuous flushing" function). Please also flush for at least 10s even when changing over between
compatible rinsing media.
Cleaning and care of the unit
Disinfecting the surfaces:
The surfaces can be disinfected with surface disinfectants (by spray and/or wipe). Do not pull on hoses or cables while clean-
ing.
CAUTION: Use only disinfecting, cleaning and care agents which are approved by Sirona! (see operating instructions).
Cleaning the surfaces:
Remove any dirt and disinfectant residues regularly using a mild commercial cleaning agent.
Do not use any colored cloths, since they can cause discoloration.
Make sure that no liquids can penetrate into the interior of the unit.
Cleaning the foot switch:
Clean or disinfect the bottom of the base plate using a water moistened cloth.
Do not pull on the connection cable when cleaning it.
Cleaning and disinfecting the rinsing media tanks:
The rinsing media tanks can be cleaned from the inside with hot water and a commercial dish washing liquid and a bottle
brush. They are dishwasher proof and also can be thermally disinfected in a thermo disinfector at 95°C (203°F) and 10 min.
holding time.
CAUTION: Perform thermal disinfection of the tanks only with removed covers.
Cleaning and care of the handpiece
Cleaning the surfaces:
Brush off the hand-piece under running water (of at least drinking water quality).
Disinfecting the surfaces:
Steam and disinfect the hand-piece at 105°C with the tip and the sealing ring removed. Spray and wipe disinfection with che-
mical disinfectants is permitted only externally! Do not use any strong acid, alkaline solutions (5 < pH < 9) or solutions contai-
ning chlorine.
CAUTION: The hand-piece, tips and sealing rings must not be thermally disinfected! Never immerse them in disinfectants!
Never clean them in an ultrasonic bath!
Sterilizing:
The hand-piece, tips, sealing rings and torque wrench are sterilizable at temperatures of up to 135°C. Before sterilizing,
unscrew the tip and blow any residual water out of the hand-piece and the tip.

Before using the PerioSonic always be sure to verify the correct seating of the
sealing ring and check its condition.
If it is defective, damaged or worn, this can lead to false detection results.
Detection is possible only with the PerioSonic handpiece and with a SIROPERIO
4 PS tip inserted. This tip can be recognized by the engraving shown.
The use of a piezoelectronically
driven ultrasound scaler results
in a linear vibration pattern. It is
therefore important to apply the
tip parallel to the tooth being
treated and never from the
front.
