Operation
9.3.3
Warning of oxygen deficiency and oxygen
enrichment
Using one of these configurations has the following effects:
Burst message (Burst Message) 1 sends information from command
(Command) 9, after the gas reading (Primary Value [PV]) at the variable slot
(Variable Slot) 0 immediately exceeded the trigger level (Trigger Level) with the
unit Vol%. The following burst messages 1 are sent at update periods (Update
Periods). In addition, gas readings are continuously sent regardless of whether
the trigger threshold is exceeded.
Burst message (Burst Message) 2 sends information from command
(Command) 9, after the gas reading (Primary Value [PV]) at the variable slot
(Variable Slot) 0 has immediately fallen below the trigger level (Trigger Level)
with the unit volume percent. The following burst messages 1 are sent at update
periods (Update Periods). In addition, gas readings are continuously sent
regardless of whether the trigger threshold is exceeded.
Burst message (Burst Message) 3 sends information (mainly errors and
warnings) from command (Command) 48 if there is a change (On-Change) and
periodically at longer intervals.
9.4
Configuration for repeaters
The configuration can be adjusted via PolySoft.
Using this configuration has the following effects:
Burst message (Burst Message) 1 sends information from command
(Command) 48 if there is a change (On-Change) and periodically at longer
intervals.
Burst message (Burst Message) 2 is deactivated.
Burst message (Burst Message) 3 is deactivated.

Special states
In a special state, correct measurement or alarm activation is not guaranteed.

Instructions for use

Special states are as follows:
Gas concentration outside measuring range
Error
Calibration
Bump test
Warm-up phase
Maintenance mode
Special states are displayed in PolySoft.
10.2
Exiting special states
1. Identify the malfunction:
a. Determine device variable status via command 9.
b. Determine device status via command 48.
c. Read out the device status using PolySoft.
2. Start with fault elimination (see "Troubleshooting", page 49) or follow
corrective measures according to PolySoft.
Errors and warnings are non-latching. If error or warning conditions are
resolved, the respective special state is also no longer transmitted.
11
Calibration
The configuration is done with PolySoft.
During calibration, the measuring accuracy of the sensor is checked and
calibrated with a known test gas concentration. First, the zero-point and then
the sensitivity of the sensor is calibrated. The length of the calibration intervals
depends on the respective regional normative requirements.
To ensure proper operation, never calibrate the sensitivity before the zero-point
is set. If these operations are performed in the wrong order, the calibration is
incorrect.
