Checklist for faults in the measurement of the pH or Rx values*
6.1 Errors in pH
Determine the values for pH and chlorine content in the pool using a manual
measurement (by taking a sample using the skimmer) and compare this value with the
display on the dosing system.
[?] My manual measurement for pH deviates considerably from the display.
➔ Check the pH – sensor (see calibration instructions in the operating instructions)
____________________________________________________________________
[?] After calibration, the following error message appears: [Displays: Error
zero point, error slope or calibration error]
Possible causes:
➢ Sensor defective
➢ Incorrect buffer solutions used
➢ Buffer solutions too old (more than 1 year)
➔ Use a new sensor or buffer solution
Other potential causes:
➢ Defective connection between the sensor and board, e.g. defective measuring
cable of sensor or connector for sensor/device (SN6 or BNC)
➢ Defective measuring cable from connection to board or electronics
Short circuit ➔Fixed display around value pH 7, since 0 mV = pH 7
Broken cable ➔ Open channel, i.e. display fluctuates or shows "- -"
The measuring duct can be checked with a simulator (special accessory).

[?] Calibration was successful. Nevertheless, the value still deviates
considerably from the manual measurement.
In this case, a water sample (close to skimmer) must be taken. Then dip the pH sensor
in the buffers for pH 4, pH 7 and the water sample.
