6.4 Electrical installation

Verify a correct cooling of the motor keeping
clear the inlets and outlets of air. It is advisable to
install the equipment in a ventilated place, away
from heating sources.
- The condensation evacuation holes must be
placed in the lower part of the motor. When there
is no risk of damaging the motor protection, the
drain plugs can be removed.

6.4.1 Electrical connections

Electrical connections must be undertaken by
qualified staff and always with the power supply
off.
- Use cables with an adequate section to con-
duct the maximum current used by the motor,
thus avoiding, overheating and / or voltage drop

6.4.2 Electrical maintenance

Every operation to the motor must be done at
switch off position and disconnected from power
supply.

(maximum voltage drop at starting up the motor
must be lower than 3%).
- Cables must arrive to the terminal box with
a bend that will not
allow water inlet sli-
ding through them.
- Contact surfaces of the connections must be
kept clean and protected from corrosion. Do not
put any washers or nuts between the motor ter-
minals and the power supply terminals.
- Verify the stuffing box seal, to guarantee the
protection shown on the nameplate.
- Avoid transmission of mechanical forces to the
motor terminals.
- Respect the voltage and frequency limits indica-
ted on the motor nameplate.
- Make the connections, depending on case,
according to Fig. 3.
It is recommended to install a short circuit over-
load breaker to prevent possible accidents from
electrical discharge, as well as a motor overload
protector to avoid damages due to overheating.

- Frequently verify that the installation and elec-
trical connections specifications are respected.
