2.3 Filter
You can identify the filter type by the colour
code on the filter. See the User instructions
for filters. Note that a particle filter provides
protection only against particles and a gas
filter provides protection only against gases/
vapours. A combined filter protects against
both gases/vapours and particles.

3. Use
3.1 Assembly
• Detach the filter holder from half mask SR
900. Fig. 3.
• Remove the inhalation membrane from the
filter holder. Fig. 4. Save the membrane for
future use.
Fit the filter in the filter holder
• Check that you have selected the correct
filter. See the User instructions for filters.
• Check that the use-by date has not been
passed. The use-by date is valid provided
that the filter packaging is unopened.

• Fit the filter in the filter holder so that the
arrows on the filter point towards the filter

Separating filter
• Place a coin between the lower lip of the
particle filter and the small tab moulded into
the side of the gas filter.
• Push firmly and twist the coin until the filters
separate. Fig. 11.

3.2 Inspection before use

• Check that the unit is complete, correctly

assembled and thoroughly cleaned.
• Check all parts. Replace if worn, broken, or

• Check that you have selected the right filter
and it has been installed properly. Fig. 16.
3.3 Putting the equipment on
• Take the SR 905 on and adjust the belt
so that the remote filter holder is firmly
and comfortably secured at the back of
your waist.
• Assemble the breathing hose into the half
mask. Fig. 17.
• Put on the half mask. See SR 900 User
instruction.
• Make sure that the breathing hose runs
along your back and is not twisted. Fig. 18.
• Rotate the belt around your waist so that
you reach the hose connection on SR 905.
• Assemble the breathing hose into SR 905.
